Dating online is hard. It’s not only time consuming, but it also can be soul crushing. You’re messaging all these girls, reading their profiles and making references to their favorite TV shows, only to be met with silence. It’s like catching fish with a barrel. However, there are some things you can do to get the attention from the many ladies online.
No more cheap bathroom selfies
Please, please, please. These are the worst. I can’t even describe to you how much of a turn off these are. Any selfie using a bathroom mirror with the phone out to the side needs to go in the garbage right now. It makes you seem insecure with your appearance and is very “try-hard”. You are basically telling the girl, I need outside approval to feel confident in myself. Enough said.
Keep it short and sweet
Don’t list literally every single book you’ve ever read. This is again, too try-hard. Keep it simple. You want to seem like you don’t care what anyone thinks of you. The thing is, when girls are reading your profile, they’ve already made a decision within the first sentence. On the other hand don’t just write some inspirational quote and call it a day. She still needs to know some info about you so she knows you’re a real person and not some predator. Look, the fact that you’re favorite movie is Fight Club is not likely to sway her. Only post your best stuff. Instead of listing 5 of your hobbies, pick one and make it seem like a big deal to you. You want to draw her into your world.
Make your picture matter
This is subtle, but it really helps paint the picture of what kind of guy you are. You want to almost make a brand of yourself. For example, if your photo is a picture of you cooking, you better be a professional chef. If it’s a picture of you dancing at the club, you better be a DJ. Pick the thing that you want to be known for, and make that the focus of your profile. Also, your name should match your picture. So if you are a professional chef; “Chefguy28” would be a suitable name. Seeing this will peak her interest. Even if it’s not your career and its just a hobby or a passion, still make it your identity.
Have some attitude
Don’t be afraid to write about things you hate. You don’t want to seem like some boring, vanilla guy. If anything it will make her trust you more because you are being honest. The written part of your profile should have a vibe of non-chalance, but don’t get that confused with being boring. If your profile is only about stuff you like, it will seem like you’re trying too hard for approval. By writing about things you hate, it’s a sign that you value your own opinions over anyone else’s.
