Everything You Need to Know About Eggs & Sperm
The title of this article is not referring to the eggs that are produced in a woman’s ovaries. The title of this article is referring to the eggs that are produced within a chicken. I just wanted to get that whole situation sorted out before I stated that I’m here to help you increase your sperm count.
First things first; did you know that eating eggs can boost your ability to produce higher sperm counts? I didn’t know, either. But once I found out that eggs do help out with sperm production, I knew I needed to tell as many men as I possibly could.
Here’s the million dollar question: Why are eggs good for you and your sperm count?
And the answer to that question is protein. The answer is also energy. And the answer is also healthy sperm formation.
Let’s say that again, together, out loud. Eggs are good for your body because they give you adequate protein to sustain your energy levels, and they just so happen to help produce a ton of healthy sperm with all that protein, too. This helps the eggs indirectly contribute to sperm formation.
Now, what ways can you consume eggs where it will be most beneficial to you?
Let’s talk about raw eggs, first.
One larger than normal raw egg provides your body with approximately 6 grams of protein. In addition, raw eggs provide your body with all of the following:
- Vitamins B-6 and B-12
- Pantothenic acid
All of the above vitamins help with energy production in the body. Good energy in the body promotes healthy sperm production.
Raw eggs don’t only help energy levels, though. They also contribute to better fertility. I know you’re already wondering how they do this, so I’m going to tell you without any further wait: Raw eggs have selenium in them. Selenium is a mineral that greatly impacts the quality of sperm. And guess what? A large raw egg has about 15 micrograms of selenium in it!
Typically, adults need about 55 micrograms of selenium in their diet on a daily basis. Eat a few of these a day and you’ll be on your way to healthier sperm.
What other ways can we eat eggs?
I understand that eating raw eggs may not be too appetizing for you. Hell, it’s not appetizing to me, that’s for sure.
If you don’t want to eat raw eggs every day, don’t worry. You don’t have to. Let’s check out other ways to get your eggs into your diet.
Eggs can be fried. They can be scrambled. They can be boiled. They can be poached. Hell, they can be thrown into a smoothie. They can be made so many different ways. However, you should be cautious of how long you cook the egg (specifically the yolk) in any of these cases. Let me explain.
Egg yolks have a ton of unsaturated fat in them. What does this mean? Well, this means that egg yolks have a ton of nutrients in them. If you overcook the egg yolks, you kill most of those good nutrients. Instead, lightly cook the yolks and reap the benefits they carry within them.
Keep in mind, though you can fry, boil, and microwave eggs, it’s not recommended. You will still get some nutrients if you do this to your egg yolks; however the antioxidant properties and optimal nutritional effects will be cut in half if you use too much heat. In addition, scrambling them is not the best way to go either.
If you’re looking for the best way to make healthy eggs, stick with soft-boiling them, poaching them, or making them sunny side up with as much runny yolk as you can.
As you can probably tell, the best way to reap all the benefits of eggs is to eat them raw. If you can’t do that, try and keep the yolk as runny as possible. Avoid overcooking the yolks. If you do this, you’ll have tons of protein in your body to mass produce energy and sperm!
