    1. Weight gainers

Weight gainers are the type of supplements that promise to increase your weight. These supplements are lined up in the same category as whey proteins, but they are entirely different. It’s not that the supplement is ineffective – the supplement can indeed increase your weight, but not in the way you would want to. Weight gainers are rich in sugar and fat, which would no doubt increase your weight, but it doesn’t add to your lean muscle mass, which is the kind of weight you would want to add to your body. You’re better off with standard whey protein powders instead of weight gainers.

    1. Pre-workouts

Pre-workout supplements are popular because they work. So why is it on this list? Pre-workout supplements work by improving your overall energy levels and making you feel good while you’re working out. While this is helpful when you’re training, it doesn’t mean that this is the only way to get it. Pre-workout supplements are commonly loaded with caffeine, an ingredient which you could conveniently take with your daily cup of coffee. You can make your own pre-workout blend. Creatine works by improving your muscle energy and preventing muscle fatigue. Just like Creatine, there are other forms of whey protein that are sold at a higher price than the regular whey protein powder and isolate. Marketers claim that other forms of whey protein are easier to absorb, but there is no research that supports these claims. Save money and buy regular whey protein isolates or concentrates.

    1. CLA

There are dozens of CLA, or Conjugated Linoleic Acid products on the market today. While tests on rodents proved that CLA can help burn fat, it doesn’t translate to human testing.
